The Vancouver Cigar Society was established in 2022 by a group of passionate cigar enthusiasts from the metro Vancouver area. What began as a casual gathering of members from a local Facebook group quickly grew into something more significant.

 

            The first social meetups were organized at the Golden Parrots Pub in Coquitlam, BC, one of the few remaining venues that welcomed cigar smokers on its patio. As the months passed and the gatherings grew in number, the harsh Vancouver winter loomed large. With patio heaters barely providing relief from the cold, the idea of a dedicated, member-funded cigar lounge began to take root.
 

             In December 2022, this dream became a reality when the Society moved into its first permanent home in Maillardville, Coquitlam. With an outpouring of enthusiasm, members quickly furnished the space with tables and chairs sourced from local listings, and within weeks, the lounge became a warm, inviting haven for cigar lovers. Over time, the Society hosted a variety of events—poker nights, charity fundraisers, potlucks, whisky tastings, and group dinners at local restaurants, all bringing members together to share their love for fine cigars and good company.

 

             In January 2025, the Society expanded to a larger space in Port Coquitlam, continuing to evolve as a community for those who appreciate the art of cigar smoking. The Society remains a welcoming refuge for those seeking camaraderie, conversation, and, of course, the finest cigars.
